One of my favorite splurges in life is what I like to call a “Wine Combo Plate”. Not only is it delicious, it’s an elegant starter for your next party. Here’s a quick and easy way to make the perfect plate, sure to pair with any wine of your choice.
Disclaimer: This plate is not what I would consider a “healthy option”, nor is it on any form of diet plan. In fact, I’m quite sure it’s horrible for you, in terms of fat content, and you can make certain you will grow another backside if you do not work it off the next day … or two .. or three.
Moving on … I used the following items:
Vegetable Sesame Crackers
Berries: Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries
Cheese: Gouda, Gorgonzola, Brie
Preserves: Raspberry and Boysenberry
- Side note – although I love, love, love jam, preserves work best with these types of plates, as their consistency meshes well with the cheeses. You’ll get an added texture of fruit with every bite.
Dark Chocolate Almonds – I prefer to purchase the ones without any added sugar.
Wine (and lots of it) – I like to have a good Pinot Noir or bubbly Moscato with my plates; heaven.
Assort as you like and voila!
And one more … a close up, just because I think it’s so pretty.
Isn’t it lovely? If you have one, break out your decanter for this fancy show – you’re sure to be host of the year. Yum!
